The South Bay has been home for nearly my whole life, ever since my family immigrated from Taiwan when I was four and settled in Redondo Beach. I learned how to look after people long before I learned anything about money, working at a yogurt shop in high school and selling shoes at Macy's through college. Both jobs taught me about customer service and to take care of whoever the person is in front of me before anything else.
An internship at a local investment firm during college pointed that instinct toward finance and after graduating in 1999, I began my career as an financial advisor at PaineWebber.
In the years since, I have guided clients through more than two decades of market cycles. Many of them followed me from a long tenure at USC Credit Union and staying with me all the way to Pacific Summit Wealth Advisors. My job is to understand your complete financial picture and build a long-term strategy around the goals that matter most to you. I treat this as a lifelong standing responsibility rather than a one-time transaction. That’s why you might find me sharing a meal with a client, attending a family function, or meeting someone at a dealership to help them buy a car. When the people I work with start referring to me their own family, coworkers, and closest friends, I take it as the clearest sign I am doing right by them.
Outside the office, my time belongs to my family, my wife Rachel and our daughter Katelyn, who is now a student at Cal State Long Beach, the same school where I earned my own degrees. We love to travel and explore new places whenever we can, though I am equally just as happy staying close to home, spending time with family and friends.
